Fished at Walton Island right below the dam with my son from 11 am to 2:30 pm this past Saturday. Our target species was small mouth bass and channel catfish. The water conditions were "normal" with a slight current and slightly stained but not horrible. We were using minnows and night crawlers. We landed two small mouth bass during our session and the Fox is still producing monsters. Unfortunately, I left my orange and black digital fishing scale at Walton Island. I'd like some help getting it back but I know it's a long shot...
Suggestions on where good launches on the river may be from geneva north to 94. Looking to fish the area.
@Twinstone sadly the Crappies were not cooperating either :(
Nice report Jimmy! Did the crappies cooperate, how was the bite? Thanks!

Fished the Fox River this past Saturday. Started the fishing session at 11:30 am and fished until 4pm. We launched the boat at Elgin Continental and worked our way North towards the Riverboat. Water temp was 46°F. We were marking fish all around the boat but they were not committing to anything we threw at them. Minnows, Ned Rig, Swimbaits, Cranks. They didn't want it. My buddy landed a nice two pound Smallmouth while dead sticking. Afterwards we decided to chase Crappies working our way south towards the South Elgin Dam. We just worked the shorelines hitting structure and docks and I landed a pleasant surprise in the picture attached. Overall it was a fun day just to be out in open water and on a boat. Great things to come this 2021 season. Tight lines everyone!
