Pounded Channel and Catherine today from 7 am until about 3 pm. Raised two muskies on Catherine near Bob's Marina on a small Phantom glide bait. I was snapping it real hard and moving it fast trying to get a reaction bite. Both looked to be upper 30's. One actually nipped at the curly tail on the back end of the bait with no hook connection. By about noon the skiers, monster boats, ski-doos, etc took over the lakes. It was about 7:30 when I raised the fish

Thinking about heading out next weekend, but never been for ice. Where's better access for a utv, musky tales or turtle? Thanks in advance, will post results.
Went out from the Turtle. Ice was 4 inches of solid clear with 3 of frozen slush. Bring your creepers, there are a lot of slick spots. Lots of people out including ATVs. If you find weeds you will find fish. Plenty of gills and crappies with some bonus perch, but not much size. The 7+ inch gills were very few and far between. All in all a fun day.
Thanks Arthur!! Cool Beans!!
$10 to park at Tutle. Box by landing with envelopes with placard to display.
Ok to park at Turtle? Was there a parking fee? If so is there a box for money?

@Lipripper815, I made the trip there from Roscoe yesterday from 7 AM-almost noon. Walked on from Turtle Marina. 10-12 people fishing to the south 150-200 yards. My Marcum is in for repair, so I was just fishing near the crowd. I drilled two holes and sat in my shelter the whole time. Fist bite broke my line as drag was not loose. I caught probably 20 fish. Mostly small gills on various jigs with wax worms. Caught one 9.5" crappie and three gills that I kept. I did not see any fish on the ice of others I passed when leaving.
How is the ice and fishing been?Thinking of making the voyage tomorrow from Rockford.
Anyone heading out tonight? I should be there between 5 and 6. Just looking for a little company in the dark. Dont plan to stay super late.
Thanks FDF !
If I go, I'll be sure to pay when I leave.
