Was back out Tuesday from about 7-5. Temp was -3 walking out in the morning. Marked fish, but getting them to bite was the trick. Fish seemed to become a little more active mid day once the sun came out, but still was a tough bite, and when they did it was extremely light. Zero interest in live bait, all fish we got were on artificials. We were able to get 17 and 18 keepers each between the two of us, no real giants. Good luck and tight lines!
Thanks NB33...much appreciated.
Five dollars. To park pay at the house behind the bar at the top of path to lake
Is there any way to get on the Ice other than Jack and Lydias? How much does J and L charge to park? Has anyone been there recently?
11° - 15° F
Fished from 7-4. Tough conditions getting out as there is a lot of snow on the ice. Tough bite yesterday as it took us a little while to figure out a decent pattern. Fishing picked up during the first hr or so of the storm yesterday then started to die. Both of us ended with ~15 panfish a piece, but the average size seemed to be smaller than a few weeks ago. Artificials seemed to outproduce live bait as the fish just would not come up to look at grubs. Good luck and stay warm!
I never get out there in open water. But if you have boat access there in open water u can catch alot of quality fish if u know how to fish weed edges. Monster bass and big crappie. Hope this helps.
I have caught at least 6 or 7 walleye the last 2 winters on deep they are in there not a lot but the one that are there are decent. Most I caught where 16 to 20 inches biggest i got was 23incher last winter
I've never seen or heard of a walleye caught from deep lake. Bass are good, panfish can be excellent.. Crooked lake, just to the East, has some walleyes.
A guy I used to work with would fish Deep Lake a few times a summer. Saw pictures of northern and largemouth....occasionally some panfish. Don't recall ever seeing a walleye caught....may not be any in that lake. Some of the bass were nice size though. He always did CPR.
Probably due to the lack of public access. The only way I know is rent a boat at Jack and Lydias.
