Robert I didn't applaud Mr. Prehns behavior staying on.  Never said what he was doing was right. I do know and that I said him and some others on the NRB have stood up to DNR and have represented and acted in the best interest of hunters as well as deer herd.They have taken steps to help save the deer herd in area. Prehn staying on longer whether right or wrong has helped hunters as well as the deer herd. I hope they have your hearing for Naas and say why or why not they will confirm. Then maybe a lot of people will be happy including you. What if they have a short hearing and majority say nay, will you be good with that?

“Change the law. Then nobody can do this no matter what you believe or what your agenda is.”

I agree, but aint never gonna happen with the current legislature.

 “How come you don't complain or speak out about the head of DNR pouting, walking out of meetings for not getting his way,being dysfunctional or not doing his job?”

I did.  Here’s a copy from my original post on this topic last year: “….The DNR is just furthering the childish behavior.  Sad”  One of the worst decisions Preston Cole made was how he handled himself in that Aug(?) NRB meeting last year. Very childish.  I admit though, my DNR bashing is woeful in comparison to yours.  You're truly a master.

“Or the many deer biologists that have consistently failed not doing their jobs. DNR purposely stalling not following law and not having a wolf season. For consistency wouldn't all these things be wrong too?”

I’m not getting suckered into a debate about deer hunting, wolves, prairie chickens, walleye spearing or whatever other topic you’d like to tangent this discussion over to.  Like I’ve said before: I don’t care what Prehn thinks about deer or how much he hates the DNR.  How don’t care how poorly of a deer hunter you think Ms Nass is.

Mr Prehn is acting like a child, and you know it.  In fact, you applaud him for it.  Sad.

I agree with you LittleLuck, I live in Washburn County and they raised the antlerless tags over last year by hundreds and did let the DNR know and they said they were comfortable with the numbers and thanked me for my concern. It won't change till the Democrats are voted out. Vote this November. Just my opinion.

Mr. White, that is an outstanding post. Anyone promoting dysfunction for the sake of favoritism to an immediate agenda is terribly short sighted.

<sigh>

I’m a broken record, but I guess it bears repeating.

It doesn’t matter if Prehn is in favor of antler point restrictions, or if he suddenly becomes an environmentalist and decides that PFAS are a serious thing.

It doesn’t matter if Dee Nass is an “anti-hunter” (who happens to hunt by the way? Weird?) or if she suddenly believes buck-only harvests are the best way forward.

The crux of the issue at hand is that Mr Prehn’s term is OVER. He’s DONE. PERIOD.

Gov Evers, as the duly elected Governor of WI gets to make appointments to the NRB (but you guys know that). He had an option to re-appoint Mr Prehn and chose not to.   Mr Prehn is now acting like little Freddie Prehn from grade school and is ignoring that.

Your opinion on whether Ms Nass is suitable for the NRB is moot.  Sorry, it’s just an opinion that means nothing…..and the same goes for mine.

I want to know what the Legislature thinks of her.  That’s the opinion that matters, but they don’t want to give it!  In fact, their current inaction on this tells me that she is a great fit for the NRB, and they know they won’t be able to deny her.   They know it!  So, instead they choose to play the child and do nothing, playing a vengeful game of pouting with crossed arms saying “this sand box used to be mine, and I don’t want to leave!  Hmrf!”   Prehn is a co-conspirator in this by not doing the right thing and stepping aside, allowing a “highly qualified” (his words!) candidate to begin.

The Legislature needs to discuss these appointments to the NRB and vote “yes” or “no” (that’s their job!).   THEY do that….not you or me.   Our role in this is at the ballot box.   If they vote “no” to Ms Nass, I will disagree with the decision, but leave it at that.  Period. Done.

As some have posted, there are a handful on here who seem to enjoy dysfunction….after all, you seem to agree with Mr Prehn’s behavior and the way he and the legislature are handling this.   I’d take those sentiments a step further and say you court dysfunction and enjoy the anger that ensues.  That’s unfortunate.

<sigh>
