"Oof.  Guess the legislature missed a grand opportunity to deny these appointees to the NRB?  If only they had held a hearing to confirm or deny them…..if only."

Conformation hearing dates for your reference: Marcy West 3/23/2021, Bill Smith 11/5/2019, Fred Clark - confirmation request withdrawn by Evers, S. Adams - Not necessary due to resignment of Julie Anderson.

"Courting dysfunction and applauding the effort to undermine the results of an election.  Unfortunate."

Your doing the same, although your either to dense to realize it, or have simply turned a blind-eye. The elected legislature is following established law, as confirmed by the supreme court. Our senators are acting in their constituents best interest as is expected and without sabotaging any election.

"This far all of Ever's….appointments to the NRB board have done little…….They've shown nothing."

Oof.  Guess the legislature missed a grand opportunity to deny these appointees to the NRB?  If only they had held a hearing to confirm or deny them…..if only.

“Yikes, hold on Fred, without you we're doomed.”

Courting dysfunction and applauding the effort to undermine the results of an election.  Unfortunate.

“Robert I didn't applaud Mr. Prehns behavior staying on.  Never said what he was doing was right.”

I’ll admit my statement was truly directed at multiple folks on this thread, and not necessarily to you.  However, my reply was directly to your post, so I apologize.  You’ve never said what he is doing is right, but are you willing to call him out that it’s wrong?

“I do know and that I said him and some others on the NRB have stood up to DNR and have represented and acted in the best interest of hunters as well as deer herd…… Prehn staying on longer whether right or wrong has helped hunters as well as the deer herd.”

Our opinions differ on how Mr Prehn’s decisions as a NRB member have truly helped hunters.  You and I could share the same opinion, and in no way does that give him a special pass to do what he is currently doing.  I’d offer that his current behavior of extending his stay could actually backfire on hunters in the future.

“I hope they have your hearing for Naas and say why or why not they will confirm. Then maybe a lot of people will be happy including you."

It’s not MY hearing.  It’s OUR hearing.  The Legislature works for US.  The NRB works for US.  The DNR works for US.  You should be just as upset about this whole messed up situation as I am.  You don’t want Prehn to leave?  Contact your State Senator and have them hold a hearing to say “no” to Nass.

“What if they have a short hearing and majority say nay, will you be good with that?”

As I said before, I’d disagree with that decision, but I will live with it.  Done. Period.   I would then look forward to Gov Evers next choice.

A casual review of past meeting agendas will reveal there is more to DNR than hook and bullet issues.   The NRB reviews a wide range of issues managed by DNR.    Naturally, it is beneficial for board members to have varied backgrounds.

All the members of the NRB review and make decisions as a board.

There are all busy men and women.   The work they do is not necessarily seen at board meetings.

Committee assignments were handed out by the chairman to only GOP board members.  Or only to men.   However one measures it, the chair determines the roles of the board members.   Complaints about that decision should be forwarded to the board chairman.

If Fred Prehn vacated his chair, as is NRB tradition, the entire dustup would blow away.  All of the distress caused by his decision is on his shoulders alone.

This far all of Ever's 4 appointments to the NRB board have done little. Yes, he's appointed 4. They've shown nothing. One who quit after serving just a few months, one hair-brained idea for a deer bounty, one who has no idea about the subjects beings discussed or any personal knowledge regarding them, and one who rubber stamps everything. Yikes, hold on Fred, without you we're doomed. I can't see any of the 3 current jokers staying on after their term is up.

There's still hope that some of you will have your deer extermination come to be. Next May 3 NRB members terms will expire. Win in November and you'll get your deer free forests. Heck, maybe you can even increase the states emission standards and hinder fossil fuel use, drive up fuel prices. Sounds like eutopia.

That would be great LL, however the legislature is done for the year. Not a bad gig.

“Change the law. Then nobody can do this no matter what you believe or what your agenda is.”

I agree, but aint never gonna happen with the current legislature.

“How come you don't complain or speak out about the head of DNR pouting, walking out of meetings for not getting his way, being dysfunctional or not doing his job?”

I did.  Here’s a copy from my original post on this topic last year: “….The DNR is just furthering the childish behavior.  Sad”  One of the worst decisions Preston Cole made was how he handled himself in that Aug(?) NRB meeting last year. Very childish.  I admit though, my DNR bashing is woeful in comparison to yours.  You're truly a master.

“Or the many deer biologists that have consistently failed not doing their jobs. DNR purposely stalling not following law and not having a wolf season. For consistency wouldn't all these things be wrong too?”

I’m not getting suckered into a debate about deer hunting, wolves, prairie chickens, walleye spearing or whatever other topic you’d like to tangent this discussion over to.  Like I’ve said before: I don’t care what Prehn thinks about deer or how much he hates the DNR.  How don’t care how poorly of a deer hunter you think Ms Nass is.

Mr Prehn is acting like a child, and you know it.  In fact, you applaud him for it.  Sad.

I agree with you LittleLuck, I live in Washburn County and they raised the antlerless tags over last year by hundreds and did let the DNR know and they said they were comfortable with the numbers and thanked me for my concern. It won't change till the Democrats are voted out. Vote this November. Just my opinion.
