How many times have you stumbled upon the carcass of a bear that died naturally? Not including bears that you shot.

I saw a cub laying dead on the side of a road a decade or so ago. I assume it was a car kill. I called it in to the DNR. They said that they would pick it up if it was still where I told them it was and mount it for educational purposes.

I’ve read that when a bear is very ill, it will take shelter or cover till it recovers or dies. So if it dies, bones are hidden undercover or shelter. They also take shelter when ill to protect themselves from attacks on 3 sides.
Just one side of story.
