deer dying from fly infestation

why are we hearing nothing from wis dnr about deer dying from black flies in sw wi. at least 50 have beem found in richland co.

My son has a picture of nice 12 pointer by pond on the edge of his drive with ribs and hip bones showing,  not scared of truck, 25 yds away. Snot is hanging out of his nose 12" down.  Called the warden, he seen it  when he got there but couldn't get a shot, too dark. Found dead a week later and skin and bones. He was on a camera seven days before the snot picture and healthy with two other nice bucks. Read the EHD article  in WISCONSIN OUTDOOR NEWS  about two issues ago.

Because there is nothing we can do about that...humans have no control over EHD

Blue tongue as it is know where I live shows up from time to time but this year it seemed to be quite wide spread, a couple of years back some even lost cattle.

We have. It's called EHD (Epizootic Hemhhoragic Disease) and its transmitted by midges not blackflies
