Fishtrap\High Lake Vilas county

Any tips for fishing Fishtrap and High Lake Vilas county first week of September.  Looking for eaters.  Walleye, perch, bluegills etc.  Small mouth and largemouth for fun.

Awesome lakes! Only been there once, but REALLY want to get back there.  Best looking weeds I think I'd ever seen. Are you staying on High or Fishtrap?  What kind of boat?  The culvert between the two may limit which one you're able to fish without trailering. 

There are two very distinct humps on Fishtrap, one up by the culvert on the north end and one closer to the southern. Granted it was 4th of July week, but popped an 18" smallmouth off one and a 19" eye off the other.  Didn't fish High too much, but got some nice crappies one evening off the reeds on the north side of Battleship Island.

try looking in the fishing reports for those lakes, you can scroll thru reports or try a date range so see how/what was reported for that time period... might have better luck there
