Wife caught this small walleye tonight but it has very distinct Perch stripes on it.Has anyone ever seen this or know if there’s a hybrid between Perch and Walleye

Depending on the body of water the color variation can be quite varied from pale beige to blue.   Immature fish coloring varies more than adult.    I know of no cross breeding and the walleye would much rather eat them than interbreed.  But I’m no biologist.

That color is typical of walleyes in dark/stained water. Especially flowages.

Walleyes get some goofy colors depending on the water they inhabit, especially little guys. Nothing abnormal about it.
