Lake Wissota is a pretty big lake, but it fishes smaller once you get a feel for it. For daytime crappies, I’d start by looking at the flowages and back bays rather than the main lake basin. Areas with submerged timber, old river channels, or flats next to deeper water usually hold fish. The Chippewa River arm and some of the protected bays can be good places to poke around.
During the day they’re often suspended, so electronics help a lot if you have them. If not, slow trolling or drifting small jigs or minnows can help you locate them. Don’t be afraid to move until you find fish. Wissota can be hit or miss, but once you’re on them, it can be really good. Good luck and enjoy the visit with your daughter
