I am from Wisconsin and will be staying on the Cisco Chain in a few weeks. My question is will I need a Michigan fishing license or can I use my Wisconsin license? Does it matter what lake you are fishing on? I can't find any answers in the regulations regarding this. Thanks for your help.

Ulbian with spot on information.

If memory serves, there are only 3 lakes you can fish with a Wisconsin license. Mamie, West Bay and Big. Outside of those 3, I think the rest are in Michigan and would require a Michigan license.

I bought a Michigan license two years ago when my wife and I stayed at Jays Resort on Thousand Island. I think we bought a 5 day license, or something like that, and it was still pricey. But, worth it in my book in order to fish Thousand Island and Cisco Lakes.....

Good luck!

If it is a border lake, meaning part of it is in Wisconsin you can fish it with a WI license. If the entire lake is in Michigan you would need a Michigan license.
