1977 Alumacraft that I painted myself, with a 15HP Evinrude.

I don't have a blind (yet) so I usually just pull it in tight to shore and cover it with camo netting type stuff and brush it up.

I mostly hunt divers (at least I used to and I am starting back up this year).

I would like to get a boat blind next year though.

Lets go guys! I know I'm not the only one thinking about making improvements/touching up the boat blind with the season being only a month away. Lets see those creative ideas out there! I have a 1436 with a 9hp go-devil that I'm trying figure out how to make the blind stationary and up at all times but still able to drive the thing and not loose my turning mobility. Any thoughts? This is where I usually get my ideas, lets see those boats!

1960's era Herters 16.5' fiberglass shallow V under that Northern Flyway blind (and all those buffies). Slides into cattails really nicely. I made a flip-over roof out of aluminum tent poles and bungie cord to make it flip open quick. Back of blind and roof have cordura backing to keep us dry and cut the wind.

25 horse elec Merc short shaft gets me lots of places.

Free boat and trailer-thank you CraigsList.

Love the enclosed bow/floatation on the boat in case we take a wave over the stern. Runs waves great with a load in it. Herters made this to last several lifetimes.

1965 Lund "shark boat" 40hp evinrude. A good duck retrieving/decoy setting boat. The divers don't mind the paintjob.

16 footer with 20 horse. Paid 350 for the boat and motor. Put another 200 into her for duck hunting.

I hunt out of a 15' Alumacraft low profile jon boat with an Avery blind. I use grass mats to further conceal myself since the avery camo is not really that compatible to marsh/cattail surroundings. The boat slides on and off easily, so I can launch it almost anywhere. A 25 Mariner short shaft propels me around. This has been nice for 2 guys on easy waters. Not a great boat for dealing with rollers and whitecaps.

Headed up tonight for the northern opener. First one without my dog who passed away this spring. Taking the grandkids so I'm sure it will be just for fun. Hope one of them can swim good for retrieves. Good luck everyone.
