Hello,

I am new to the group and this is my first post. I am new to Diver hunting and am looking to rig my own longlines.

I am looking at buying 3/16" #120 Nylon Tarred Braided twine, and some 5" Stainless Steel swiveled clips.

Can anyone provide a link or any information on where to buy these at a reasonable price?

Thanks!

Dont tie knots, use sausage crimps aka hog rings.

knots + water = disaster

T_S is right on the money.

I purchased my long lines in the form of 3/8 rope (not generic, w/e the crazy won't rot stuff is) from Fleet Farm and have found good success with this material not tangling. Again same story 3/16 droppers works wonders. I did skimp out on clips and ordered cheap stuff from McMasterCarr. Didn't care if they were rusty after time.

For main line you are gonna want something bigger than 3/16th even 1/4 inch mainline seems a bit small.. i use 3/8... the skinner that line is, the more tangles and mess's ur gonna encounter.

3/16th is accurate for the dropper line (deek to clip)

Doctari Longlines makes no sence. way over priced. order your clips of pacific fishing or find a similar ocean fishing store.. the clips are usually like 50 cents per.. i get my 3/8 inch rope from fleet farm. and make your own weights or use window sash weights.

I've always just used para cord as a main line. They had acouple sizes at fleet the biggest size works best so the clips don't slide. Also put mini caribener clips on each end so I can put a couple together when hunting deeper water

Wait a week or two for gander and cabelas to start their waterfowl sales. I bought my rope from fleet farm, mark sure it's dark colored to help conceal it from ducks.
