The drumming report can now be found on WI DNR website, it confirms the earlier report of 41% increase statewide but a larger increase in the north 48%. I always found the brood survey that is conducted later in the summer and weather conditions (dry/warm weather in June) to be better predictor of the up coming hunting season. But this is certainly good news!
My wifes father was up at his property in Iron River mi. this past weekend, said he heard a lot of drumming.
On a side note a friend owns a farm and some adjoining woods released 100 pheasants last year. Apparently about 35 or 40 made it through the winter and have nested . I thought they would've been coyote food.
