I have the 6 quart Instantpot which comes with the stainless steel pot. Basically it's a pressure cooker with a bunch of bells and whistles. That said, I use mine all the time and really like it. Easy cleanup as the pot comes out of the main unit. I even make my own Greek yogurt in it and it is way better than the $1.00/5oz. containers. I can make 4 pints (64 oz.) from one gallon of milk and milk is, what, about $2.00 a gallon? I am very familiar with using an old style pressure cooker for meats and this thing just makes it easier. If you do a lot of cooking you won't regret it.

Any brand recommendations?  Ones to avoid?  Stainless steel pot the way to go?  Want to know more.

I love my instant pot.  I use it two to three times a week on average.  I still prefer roasts in my crock pot, but a lot of other things I do in the instant pot. Hard boiled eggs, meatloaf, ribs, and lasagna I no longer do any other way .

Not a big deal. I have the stainless steel pot and had zero issues with clean up.

I bought the instant pot 6 quart duo nova a month ago. All I can say is Wow. I’ve done some Bear and venison Roasts with potato’s, carrots, and onions and in 90 minutes they turned out fall apart tender. I cut up the roast into smaller chunks and season with salt, pepper, garlic powder etc.…. add beef broth to cover up roast about half way then pressure cook on high for 75 minutes, depressurize, add the veggies, and pressure cook another 15 minutes. Using pressure seems like it pushes the seasoning thru the entire pc of meat. With a simple internet search there are tons of recipes for this thing. We use it at least 2x a week.
