We have a bunch of fish in the freezer, most are from trips to Minnesota and Canada, I’m kinda getting bored with the weekly fish fry and looking for some good recipes for making fish chowder with walleye, northern and perch

I cooked the bacon in soup pot removed and did the onions and celery in the bacon fat. Also added garlic and incorporated the bacon back in the chowder with the fish. I used walleye cuz I had extra but I think my go to would be pike. It's delicious

I believe in simple. I take some crappie filets and microwave for 3 minutes. Add 1 can of cream of potato soup, 1/2 can of milk and 1 pad of butter and microwave another 2 1/2 minutes. Done. If you want to you can fancy it up and complicate things from there.

I use a seafood chowder recipe and add in or substitute freshwater fish. Always use a roux to help thicken it. Basically milk and cream, potatoes, onions, bacon, corn, clam juice (YUM), season to taste. I always throw in a little Old Bay.

I like this one, but I do add corn and omit the shrooms. Veggies can make it go farther and add dimensions of flavor.
