Fall Bluegills on Leech Lake

Figured I'd try soliciting some info here rather than the Leech Lake thread in the MN reports. Seems like it doesn't have much activity.

Heading up to Leech Lake the first week of October. All our fishing is typically done in Sucker Bay on the north end of the lake. Always do well on perch, but rarely get any bluegills. Does anyone have any tips on connecting with them more regularly at that time of year?  We typically fish jig/fathead, so maybe different bait?

I doubt if you’ll catch many gills on that rig!  Use crawlers, Wax worms, leaf worms etc. on a tiny ice jig. CARPIO
