brush pile fishing with a Garmin

This isn't new but it is to me....we used a Garmin to dial in our search yesterday...what I thought was noteworthy was the units ability to not only show depth to the cover but distance to cover....awesome for sure....and to boot it's displayed in real time...meaning you could "watch" your lure as it sank instead of counting it down....and set the hook about the same time a fish came in to strike....WOW....we also had the unit on a pivoting mount so we scanned the entire brush pile  /cover item and casted to the direction of the display....it was like the first day seeing side imaging years ago...very cool

Besides a slipbobber and minnow.....we're using some small spoons and Rapalas....just remember to increase the line to get most of your snags back....
