He had just launched the boat and had been casting for 5-10 minutes or something when a 55+ monster came up and ate his Rizzo Tail, one of the smaller musky lures you might ever use. He had this fish up multiple times but was unable to land it solo. If I recall correctly, the 4th or 5th time he had the fish approaching the net it somehow got caught on the rim netting of the net (the lure) and the fish was able to gain some leverage and thrash off. He never got over that loss, like any good musky fisherman. It was the biggest fish he ever encountered, at least from what he told me, and it was on the season opener. Amazing.
