Shore fishing near Escanaba

Hello,

Will be staying a few days in the Escanaba area - can't pull the camper and boat, so any fishing would be done from shore.  Looking to find some locations within a 30-minute drive of Escanaba where my son and I might find some perch or walleye, even crappie and bluegill would be fun.

Also, is a separate license needed for Lake Michigan or Little Bay de Noc?
