I'd say either side of Door county is the place to go, usually get multiple 20 inch fish per trip. Even my 10 yr old buddy got a big one last summer

Last weekend at the Madison fishing expo, I was able to make a smallmouth seminar.  Looking forward to a good year this year myself out of the yak.

A general question, not looking for any secret places, just a general comment.  Were most of the fish out of lakes or rivers?
