Parking Rules for ice fishing

What are the general rules of parking on a road in the winter if nothing is posted? Is parking on the shoulder (if plowed) reasonable in order to access a lake. Just like anyone would do in the summer? Does this vary greatly by town?

Do municipalities have parking rules listed/posted somewhere obvious in order to figure this out? If not, who might I call or email in order to get started.

There are plenty of lakes up here in Vilas County that don't have plowed roads or launches....but the walk in isn't really that far. Just need to find somewhere to park..... Any help/thoughts appreciated.

Alot of areas have different rules for parking in winter time because of snow removable. Always best to check with local authorities before making a costly assumption.
