Probably one of my favorite ice fishing forums each year, what's new out there?

Clam Gravity Elite reel

Clam's version of the freefall. Looks legit, i'll have to get one just to compare it to the freefall and ghost, I would assume is comparable to the ghost.

Suspend Dots

What do you mean by a suspend dot? I'm not a fan of split shots for that reason, but 1/64 oz in 30 fow will take forever to get to the bottom.

They are pretty light, with the 15mm coming in at 1/64th, the 19mm at 1/32nd and the 25mm at 1/16th of an ounce. I'm going to try them without any weight. I'm not a fan of adding weight that isn't part of the lure. I think that 15mm will be killer for crappies and perch this winter.

Great minds think alike! I got one of each color in the 15mm and 19mm sizes, doubled up on the fire tiger, wonder bread and whatever he calls the purple one. Thinking they are going to be lighter than I like, but a small split shot will solve that!

I just came to post those same lures. They look killer, I can't wait to start using them. I just ordered one of every color in the 15mm and 25mm from Thorne Brothers on Friday. I doubled up on the Wonderbread, Pink with Purple stripe and the Gold Magma because those are usually my most productive colors.

New release from Kenders Outdoors. Similar to the Eurotackle lure, only better ;)

I've been using the Strike Sensor for years with all kinds of set ups and has always worked well. Only a 200 yard range, but plenty for my applications.

I just ordered one of the Vulture kits. 106.00 for 1 sensor and the receiver. I'm a little leery about it, had bad experiences with the "trip wire" type lights in the past, like the Frabill Arctic Siren, but I'm giving this a go.

I do have awesome staff!  I would hope part of it is that I've been good to them over the years as well!

Yeah, I would never set tipups that far (it would be illegal).  However, I'm overrun with raccoons on my 10 acres.  I will be setting up this sensor on a live trap.  That will be cool, not having the check the trap every day and knowing when you have something!

Anyone hear of Vulture Systems?  They make a sensor system for tip ups (and other uses). Don’t know if it is brand new or not.  My staff bought me one for bosses day today.  1 mile range!  The sensor is huge and honestly, not the most user friendly.  You have to open the sensor with 3 thumb screws just to turn it on and off.  BUT, it seems pretty awesome.  A triggered sensor not only flashes a very bright red LED on the sensor, it causes a light flash and beep on the handheld unit.  Handheld can receive signals from up to 6 sensors and has 1-6 numbered buttons so you know which sensor is tripping.

Very cool toy that I look forward to trying.  But very expensive.  Handheld with 1 sensor is over $100.  If you want to set up a handheld with 3 sensors, you are at about $250.  Handheld and 6 sensors and your at just over $425!  Yikes!  But diehards, especially night fisherman, may find it a worthwhile investment.

Didn't trophy strike partner with nils last year?

“Clam posted a picture on their IG of a new electric auger at the MN state fair. Didn't see any info on it.”

The company that makes Trophy Strike augers approached Clam about branding some with the Clam name. So they’ve been around for a bit as it’s the same auger as a Trophy Strike.
