Meal worms do they work?

I've got a bunch of meal worms from my sons lizard do they work as bait

They are harder than most baits.They probably would work,but I will bet you get the old suck 'n spit.I gave some to some convict cichlids,and they would spit them out right away.But most eventually got swallowed when the competition showed interest.

Not sure of meal worms , but wax worms always worked  . Just that they are larger and get stolen easier than mousies  .
