Anyone have a Kdrill. Fleet farm has them $40 off so $209. Sick of hauling around my strike master. Any input would be great

Ok I need some insight.

Fished yesterday on a lake that had 12” of hard ice, and my genuine 12AH Milwaukee M18 battery died after maybe 60 holes. This was with the 2804 drill.

Prior to this, I’ve drilled around 100 holes on a charge and haven’t been less than 2 bars battery, though the ice is now thicker. My question is, should I expect more holes than that? We did set the auger on the ice at times, and I’ve read that can cause the battery to die faster. Just looking for others experiences.

Fish Hound - Not really sure yet on which brand, but was thinking 6" hole.  8" hole would be nice but not sure what the reduction in holes drilled would be for the battery.

I know this is the K-Drill thread, but I just received my Eskimo Pistol Bit 8" auger with the centering pin.

Now, my Milwaukee 2804-22 drill kit should arrive on Monday.

(thanks Fish Hound)

The pic shows my Son holding up the 8" auger with one finger. It's incredibly light !

Fish Hound,

Funny,  I'll be out there too from Wednesday to Sat.  I'm going south between lacrosse and Prairie.  Hopefully my K-drill will be up and running.

Which bit are you planning to use Lakeshiner?

Fish Hound, funny you should mention the Mississippi because that's a big part of where I fish.  Some trips I make its not alot of hole other trips its tons of holes.  So maybe I'll upgrade.  Ended up buying the 2804 on Ebay $110 with shipping and tax.

Thanks

I've been debating one of these because I just got a MKE 2804 drill.  How are they when the ice is really thick?  I get a foot of ice, but what about 2'?  What is realistic for holes on say a 5ah battery in that case?

When I perch fish, I tend to drill maybe 40 holes some days until we locate them over mud flats.  That's high end, but has happened already.  I like the idea of a lightweight drill for that but if I need to buy larger batteries I may think more about using something like this just earlier in the year and keep my Honda Lite for later.

Holy high prices Batman! MUCH better deals than that out there!

Search Milwaukee M18 on eBay. New 12.0 batteries for $60 under that sale price, and 9.0 for $80 less.

FYI for anyone with Milwaukee M18 tools, pretty sweet battery deal going on through Acme Tools.
