I know it's early but do you need floatation for the ATVs on Kesonga? If so how and where do you get it checked out to see if it's good? Thanks for any info.

Please refer to the Dane county ice requirements, ALL other icebound lakes require flotation for vehicles between 750 and 850 lbs. Special permit over 850 lbs. No longer a check station just don't get caught without them.

It is early and if you mean lake Kegonsa of the Madison chain of lakes.  The answer is no.  The only lakes of the chain that require floatation is Wingra, Mendota, Monona.

Last winter there was no floatation check spot.  (Might have been a covid thing) But the floatation was still required.  You went to the Dane county website for floatation requirements for either atv or snowmobile.
