I'm almost ready to pull the trigger on getting the k drill. But I have a few questions. First, what is the best drill to pair up with the k drill? I've seen mostly Milwaukee 18 volt brushless, but is there anything better? Does it need to be brushless? Second, how many inches of ice should I expect to drill on 1 battery? If there's anything else from someone who owns one that I should know I would appreciate it.

Herb, it is a brushless. Deciding if I want to unload it on an unsuspecting pawn shop (like the way I got it lol) since it drives screws, drills holes and cuts holes with a hole saw adapter just fine, or look into having it repaired and selling it.
Or if anyone is handy and wants to make an offer on it, let me know. DCD996.
Do not use it on hammer. Look around the collar of the chuck, it will have numbers which are torque settings for screws, then it will have a drill symbol amd a hammer symbol. You should have it on the drill symbol and "1". That should be the high torque slow speed setting on top the drill.
Gents - Thanks for your comments I appreciate it. Im going to do the upgrade today.
I was thinking about it last night I got 2 Fisherees Im gonna hit in Later Jan and Feb and I have people coming up for it and I don't want to be a clown on the ice not being able to drill 15 holes because I was trying to save $140.
