Just purchased a new rifle. A savage trophy hunter xp 30.06 springfield. I am a fan of Hornady ammo and they have 30.06 SP, SPRG. are they all compatible?

Thanks guys. So far Remington 185g's seem to group the best. So far I am pretty happy with the gun. I put thru about 40 rounds today. I need a few more sessions before I feel comfortable in the woods.

I have a custom built .300 Win Mag. With Remington 150 grain pointed soft points, it shoots well, within 1 inch at 100 yards. With Remington 180 grain pointed soft points, it's all over the target.

HOWEVER, with Winchester Supreme 180 grain Nosler ballistic tips, it shoots to the same point of impact as it does with the 150 grain PSP Remington bullets. But it won't shoot Winchester ammo worth crap...

The ONLY way to find out is to shoot the ammo and find out....

The only true test is to put those shells on paper through that barrel.

I switched years ago from factory Remington to factory Federal and there was a big difference when I switched. Like 4" to the left from one to the next.

I shoot a 1917 Enfield.

All 30-06 ammo should be good for any 30-06 gun. SP stands for soft point.
