Hit the range today with my 16" AR. El Cheapo Ballistic Advantage pencil-thin profile, 1:7" twist rate and NATO chamber fired my home-rolled MK262 ammo (77BTHP). Held the tip of the reticle at 6 o'clock on the 6" bullseye to verify my zero. Had the range to myself, so I could take my time for deliberate shots. Most shots impacted to the right of center, but I won't be moving the reticle on that 3X optic.

Took the 45ACP "carjacker Jr" to the range yesterday and fired 2 handed with hands resting on the bench from 14yds. By far the best "pick a spot on the target" group I'd ever fired with a CCW pistole. Max loading of TiteGroup and a 200gr SWC poly-coated projectile. It's pretty snappy in the hand and really makes a person concentrate on making the sear break by total surprise.
A buddy out in PHX thoroughly tested his new Garmin Xero® C1 Pro Chronograph and had a LabRadar doplar radar chronograph taking up space in his garage. On Monday, I received a USPS shipment from him...his LabRadar unit. Totally unexpected, zowie. I have a MagnetoSpeed chrono, but will not work with handguns. A radar system will clock anything that flies. Sadly, this one will not see any use until springtime. Kinda interested to see what velocities my handgun reloads are actually achieving.
Have used 230gr plated booolits in the past as well as 230gr FMJ's. Will test these polymer-coated 230gr lead bullets in my Shield with a heavy load of TiteGroup. These are loads used by a couple of custom loaders for the folks that shoot National Match courses and they worked well in a couple of 45's that I had.

Got out to do some testing of 55FMJ's with TAC. Pretty sure that TAC is a little slow of a burn rate for 55gr projectiles. Once I pumped the load up to approach the performance of M193 ammo (and I was 100fps short in the same barrel), velocity ES/SD numbers got erratic and grouping suffered. Still nice to get back out on the bench.
