Hit the range today with my 16" AR. El Cheapo Ballistic Advantage pencil-thin profile, 1:7" twist rate and NATO chamber fired my home-rolled MK262 ammo (77BTHP). Held the tip of the reticle at 6 o'clock on the 6" bullseye to verify my zero. Had the range to myself, so I could take my time for deliberate shots. Most shots impacted to the right of center, but I won't be moving the reticle on that 3X optic.

Got out to the range today to test my M4 with my rendition of MK262. My M4 has a 16" barrel and only delivered 2600fps with the 77BTHP through the LabRadar. Will still be supersonic at 800yds. Fired it over the top of my range bag, so it wasn't real steady. The load usually shoots at 1 MOA out of this rifle from a solid rest.

Short day at the range yesterday. Drifted the sight on my 45 Shield and fired 5 from a rest at 31yds. It was centered pretty well and was just a smidgen low of my hold. I did dig one of those 200gr SWC lead bullets from a wet sand bunker. Didn't deform much starting at 850fps. It is 18 Bhn hardness. If they were good enough for Bill Jordan and Elmer Keith...they are plenty good for me.

Next week I want to run my home-rolled 77BTHP for my 16" carbine, testing it with the LabRadar. That is my load for distances beyond 150yds.

Another day with the LabRadar. 200gr SWC and 230gr Rd Nose, poly-coated lead bullets. Fired from a 3.3" barrel in a CCW pistol. They clocked 850fps & 800fps respectfully. Not screaming, but that 200gr SWC load would slap a BG into the next area code. I had been carrying a Federal HST, but still buy into the old-fashioned SWC used by Bill Jordan and Elmer Keith.

Had a chance to test my 45ACP CCW pistol w/200gr Semi-wadcutter lead booolits on a LabRadar personal doplar radar unit. 850fps average and it was about 50fps slower than I'd hoped for.

A lady friend fired her new Ruger Security 380 at 15yds. Surprisingly accurate and not a single hiccup. The sight register was perfect for elevation with practice ammo and the Federal HST that she will carry. Drifted the rear sight to get her hitting center and she is good to go.

Went with 2 gals to the range yesterday. Had to assemble one's 10/22 and re-mount her optic, then get a zero up close. After swinging to 61yds, she shot a great group from the bench with Fed el'cheapo ammo. The other gal was practicing from 15yds with her Bersa 380 and did "OK". She did have one group of 5 (out of 4 groups) that was well-centered on the Echo target. She needs to practice more with a 22 or something that doesn't scare her. She is having vision issue at 75 years of age as well.

My Shield 45 did ok with the 200gr SWC. Still need to nudge tthe rear sight slightly to the right. Draw from the belly band at 4 o'clock, then fire 3 very deliberate shots at 15yds.

Took a friend out that is 85YO with many years of experience. He purchased a used Walther PPK in 380 to go into his collection. He fired it and a PPK in 22LR. He did very well at 15yds. Sadly, he ran out of gas and we didn't stick around long. I fired a few rounds with the 380, 45 and the M4. Am pretty much ready for whatever may occur.

Took a lady out to the range today. She's an experienced shooter, but had never fired my M4 before. She did real well aiming center mass @ 62 yds, resting her elbows on he bench. 55FMJ from Ammo Inc (in the black boxes). She got surprise breaks on every shot (I watched her closely) and she had no distinct aiming spot.

I fired 3 with elbows on the bench at 62yds for the "immediate stop" point of aim.

I took the new plinker (Ruger 10/22) to the range. I put a Bushnell red dot that I've had for a while on it. After dialing it in at 25 yards, I'm pretty happy with it. Some of the shots were rapid fire.

Well it hit 60F this afternoon and I figured I better hit the range. Took my 45cal Carjacker Jr and would draw, fire one...repeat, at 10yds. Close enough.

Took the 45ACP "carjacker Jr" to the range yesterday and fired 2 handed with hands resting on the bench from 14yds. By far the best "pick a spot on the target" group I'd ever fired with a CCW pistole. Max loading of TiteGroup and a 200gr SWC poly-coated projectile. It's pretty snappy in the hand and really makes a person concentrate on making the sear break by total surprise.

A buddy out in PHX thoroughly tested his new Garmin Xero® C1 Pro Chronograph and had a LabRadar doplar radar chronograph taking up space in his garage. On Monday, I received a USPS shipment from him...his LabRadar unit. Totally unexpected, zowie. I have a MagnetoSpeed chrono, but will not work with handguns. A radar system will clock anything that flies. Sadly, this one will not see any use until springtime. Kinda interested to see what velocities my handgun reloads are actually achieving.

Can't fish and bored to tears. These are 77gr OTM's for serious work. Loaded 300 of them and 400+ 55gr FMJ's. Now have over 400 loaded for my 45ACP. May decide to get out to the range on Friday.

Tinkertoyed a 400 Legend for a good friend. Do not have the headspace guages for this caliber, so we shall see how if goes. Likely will be just fine. Should be a good deer/bear/hog stomper once we get the muzzle thread protector and an optic mounted.
