Looking for a used Marlin 30/30 with a scope or not for my young son who is hunting next year. He loves my WIN model 94 30/30 but I wont let him use it for safety concerns. This is the gun he wants. We arent interested in anything else. Thanks

So here’s some info that should interest all you Marlin owners…
JUST SAW NEW MARLIN 30-30’s
ADVERTISED ON “Grab a Gun” for $1,799.
I s h i t u not!
Says it’s new model now made under Ruger’s guideance! Wow, used to retail for like $499 or less…
Looks like same old 336 that’s been around forever. Wonder if our used models just took a big uptick in value-like the Colt snake revolvers did …
Because i for one would sure part with my .35 model 336. Especially if the price was like. $500 more than I ever thought possible… gonna keep a watchful eye on this

The older Marlin's did not have the cross bolt safety, so basically operation is no different than a 94. The newer Marlins have the cross bolt safety lock. Either one to unload you need to run every round through the chamber. I have an older Marlin 336 in 30-30 no cross bolt safety. It is a tack driver. It was not the first gun I put in my Daughter or Son's hands however. They are handy nice little rifles.
Good luck
Good luck
There is always 30-30 ammo at the gun shows. I looked on Gunbroker.com this morning and there was 405 listings for 30-30 shells. 35Rem is another story, it is hard to get and expensive.
WI Gun Shows
Check your local gun shows. There is always ammo to be found at the shows. It maybe a little higher priced but if you need it, someone will usually have it.
