I have not seen the paint can hooks but if they don't have a rubber handle I can only imagine that they would be too slippery with wet and slimy hands.

The hooks that I referenced below work really well. They not only work for pictures but also work to hold/control the fish while taking the lure out of his mouth.

I don't know how we got along without them!!! Lol I will attach some of my pictures of the hooks in use.

Go to the website on my previous post and he still has them for sale on there.

Good luck and be safe out there this Summer.

Don't they sell something just like the "S" hook at paint stores for hanging paint cans off a ladder?

Take a look at a "Meat Hook" too. Doubles as a hand gaff.

Go to: http://www.luckyloufishing.com/ and he sells the "Chinook Hook" on his website along with some good quality flies.

Like I said, I have some of these Chinook Hooks and I don't know how I survived without them!!

Good luck out there to everyone.

They are available locally in Milwaukee. I will go back and find the website that I got them from. I will update this post either tonight or in the morning when I find the website.

They work great and are nicely balanced. I nicked my finger last year on a salmon tooth when I was holding a big King and I looked all over for something like this. My wife and son absolutely love to use them for pictures and I frequently use it to hold the fish while I take the hooks out of the fish.

I believe that they run round $10.00 apiece. Stainless steel with a rubber handle.
