I have been fishing leadcore for years and have never had issues when using swivels to connect my flouro.  I would recomend buying the higher quality swivels in small enough size to run thought your eyelets.  Not only is this a strong hold, but it also prevents the line from twisting.

where most lines break in this knot is from the heat when cinching the knots tight. Goober it up a bit more and it will help. I personally have switched over to using the baby swivels. The only breakoffs I have now are from me not seeing a knick near the bait end of the leader. Good luck!

I have just started changing over from snap weights to lead core. I have been using unit to uni and this has been very easy to tie and has held up with no failures.

Thanks for input but still having issues .... Using willis knot .... 20# floro and regular Tuff line lead core - 27# .. Fished yesterday out of washburn ... Lost three rigs (to assumed snags) on leadcore all of which the flouro  pulled out of the leadcore ... as opposed to flouro line just breaking ,, makes me question -- if Im doing something wrong , which I doubt because its simple overhand knot or should I use different knot which I would want suggestion on ...

I use small spro power swivel (30lb) with polarmar knots for each connection.   These small swivels go through guides with no problem and help reduce twisting in lines.   It is also much strong connection.

You must use a higher test core than the 18# I use. The 18# with a 14# flouro leader works for me. One of my rigs has 30# fireline for backing. I tie a surgeon's loop in the fireline and use the doubled backing to spin the wraps of the Albright knot for the dacron of the back side of the core. It's a good place for a double strong connection for the planer board or clip on weights.

I only tie in a fluorocarbon section if fishing shorter cores like 2-5. Just use 20-25# big game all the way to the swivel and you'll be fine. Otherwise, I use 25# big game tied to the LC (Willis), then tie in a 5-7 foot tippet of 25# fluoro (uni-uni). I have never had a Willis knot fail.
