Their either Chicken of the Woods or a Orange Turkey Tail mushroom...

Similar family and growing traits...

Turkey Tail mushrooms come in a variety of colors, some spectacular...

Some are highly medicinal...

Chicken of the Woods are pretty much the same color and pattern...

Some maybe more pale or washed out... That may fool you...

Here's 1 chicken and 2 turkey pics...

I had the same conclusion at first, but the fins underneath of honey mushrooms are white...

I'm no expert, and even the experts make mistakes...  They say when in doubt throw them out...

My first thoughts are Death Cap ...

I really don't like the slightly shaggy white stem... Then the fins under the cap...

See if it bleeds a color and/or a bit tastes bitter... Rub a little on your lip first see if it gets numb...

Never eat more than a little first time trying a mushroom...

White mushrooms are the hardest to ID since they look rather all the same best is to do a spore print, it's like a fingerprint...

The death cap mushroom likely kills and poisons more people every year than any other mushroom. ... When someone eats Amanita phalloides, she typically won't experience symptoms for at least six and sometimes as many as 24 hours. Eventually she'll suffer from abdominal cramps, vomiting, and severely dehydrating diarrhea...

Found the first batch of oysters since early aug. Should be good coming up with all this rain and cooler temps. Also a few small chantrelles

I found this patch of mushrooms today but not sure what they are?  Can anyone give me an idea if they are good to eat and what species they are.

Thanks
