Cougar Sightings??

A work acquaintance of mine was returning from a Canadian fishing trip about a week and half ago. Some where in the vicinity of Minong or so along highway 53 he says he saw what he swears was a cougar. This guy doesn't seem prone to just making up tales, allegedly had his two teenaged grandsons along as witness. Anyone here have or hear of anything verifying stories like this?? Kind of cool, yet a bit unnerving if you walk northern streams as i occasionally do alone. So, what say ye? Thanks, bob p.

I saw a couple Monday night at high school orientation, driving an Audi and a Land Rover.

Seen one today in Vernon County. Talked to the farmer just down the road who had some cattle out to give him a heads up. He wasn't alarmed, he told me he see's them every now and then.

I saw that on the news today, looking right into the house window. Kinda creepy when they get that curious.

Just saw one reported in Brookfield. Pretty cool video.

If from SD, that's a long way. Where can one cross the Mississippi realistically? Must be pretty far north to go for the cougars...

In the summer of 2016 my firend and I saw  a big, muscular cougar on the Brunet River, 20 miles north of Ladysmith.  Comments I have seen indicate that these cats are roaming males from the Dakotas.

Yes, there was one a few yrs ago in Price co. and the DNR confirmed it was a mountain lion.  Dont know where the cat went but I think they should have tagged it to see where it goes.

dnr verifies cougars in wisc.

Since Ive never seen one I dont give a hoot about cougars in wisc.  BUT their presence have been verified with evidence by the DNR.

DNA samples from hair or scat conclude the presence of several males originating from the Black Hills SD area. No females so no breeding.  This is science and not hearsay.

ihookem, if you click on the map, looks like there have been sighting near your cabin.
