Carp bow hunting

Wondering what the hunters do with carp ?  see garbage cans full? Fertilizer, do you eat them?

ANNUAL CARP ROUND-UP!

Fish on the Fox River and Tichigan Lake, Racine County

$1 Cash Bounty for each Carp (6” minimum length) 

Paid Saturday and Sunday, 7 - 8am & Noon to 5pm

Catch carp by any legal means.


The CARP ROUNDUP,  sponsored by the FRCAUSE (Fox River Citizens Against Underwater Silt & Erosion) will be staged at the boat launch North of Waterford Village Hall, 123 N River St.   Carp may be taken by any legal means. That includes bow and arrow, spearing and hook and line.

    Individuals as well as groups are invited to participate.   Volunteers from FRCAUSE handle collection and counting of the carp. 

   FRCAUSE is an all-volunteer, non-profit, 501-C3 organization working to improve the quality of the Fox River and Tichigan Lake. All donations to FRCAUSE are tax deductible.

IDEALLY, they have it figured out before they go as to what they're going to do with them.  Bury in their own garden, a friend's garden or contact a farmer to toss into their field or manure pit, or some other acceptable method of disposal. Unfortunately, there appear to be those who don't care and will dump in a garbage can at the launch or in a ditch or some other unsuitable location, giving all bowfisherpeople a bad name.
