Its amazing how some try to portray it as "poor wolves". Should have never had more than the original agreed population of 350 wolves. Give them an inch and they take the mile.

The home page for the WDNR clearly has a "Public Input Opportunities" section to click into. Wonder why there isn't a link to the wolf input section there. You either have to search on their site for "wolf" or go into the hunting section and muddle through that to find the wolf input page.

I scouted and hunted a couple of of state properties in Oneida county for turkey this past week. There is no shortage of wolf sign. Lots of scat and tracks in the sand cover roads.

The DNR is currentry doing a wolf survey on there web site until may 15th. I would encourage anybody w/ an interest in wolf management in Wi to take about 10 minutes and fill it out.

I’ve never ate wolf, but don’t see why you couldn’t eat it? Anybody try it before? I had dog in Korea and thought it was delicious. I didn’t know what it was till after I ate it. But it was good.

We live in a pretty remote part of Douglas county Wi. I encountered a pack of 5 wolves while out walking this morning . Two just crossed the road , and the other three must have seen my movement , cause they started my way . After yelling and waving my arms , they decided I probably wouldn't taste good  , and crossed the road as well . It was a nervous looking over my shoulder walk back home after that !

Having just read a public statement by the Board of Timber Wolf Alliance and the Humane Society of the united states it sounds exactly like certain posters on Lake Link in that it uses judgmental rhetoric sprinkled with mentions of science to claim a superiority of opinion.  No doubt these 2 groups are using well funded expertise in marketing and public relations to inform sympathetic newspapers and other media outlets,  sway public opinion and gain more money and marketing power.  Another battle coming.

Midday wednesday harvest was 162  it became clear that hunters and trappers were on pace to exceed the limit so the season closed at 10 am wednesday zones 2-5-6, 3pm zones 1-3-4.

As of 3 PM today, 76 wolves were registered with a quota of 119 allowed. Hopefully the hunters go full apesh$# today and tomorrow and get near the quota.

That's good there is in person registration. Didnt realize that. Hopefully then we have proficient hunters and trappers really bagging wolves then.

Falsely claiming a harvest would result in a citation in short order when you fail to exhibit the carcass and pelt for in person registration by March 7th as noted in the regulations.

I don't believe you can purchase a hunting license without a hunters education number on file.  Might not be a bad spring hearing proposal to put out there is to require one for applications to keep these non hunting jackoffs from tying up tags that could go to people who actually want them.

Worse than applying is claiming harvest if one didnt occour to get early closure. I would think follow up would be pretty easy. Not that many just look and see who hunts in years past .
