When I lived in Denmark, it was so easy to communicate about hunting and the stuff, and kids learn how to skin and butcher deer and other animals from kindergartens there. It's considered to be normal and parents are supportive. In America, there're too many activists who are against such classes for kids.

There are likely species specific Learn to Hunt classes during different times of the year, deer, pleasant, small game, turkey, etc... Best contact would be you local Warden or the state learn to hunt coordinator..

This year's class will begin Monday, August 12th at Milford Hill's Hunt Club.  We will meet in the Trading Post building starting at 6pm.

This unique opportunity is for adults looking to try hunting.  Only cost is for ammunition used and all other equipment can be loaned out.

We will be hunting everything from doves to deer and waterfowl to turkeys thorough the fall, winter and spring seasons, with the emphasis on safety, ethics and game care and cooking...

Those interested can sign up at Wisconsin GoWild website under Hunt for food class.
