Picking Colors

When fishing new water, how do you pick your colors? I'm trying to learn a body of water near me (Lake Dubay, WI) and I'm having a hard time narrowing in on what colors to use. The water is pretty dark in color but I wouldn't call it dirty or chocolate milk; it's just very dark. When targeting bass I've had mild luck with dark green or black with blue fleck. When targeting walleye usually i use yellow and pink jigs with minnows

I had 4 of those, very sad day when my fav stopped working. It had temp and PH with light reading. The newr' ones far more durable.

We had the original "round" color-c-lector back in the 80's.  It was a great help, especially when fishing dirty rivers.  I still use the color(s) that it showed us as best for different systems 30+ yrs ago.

I've never heard of that before. It's an interesting concept
