Perch fishing in 80' of water. Nice perch but unfortunately no catch and release at that depth. Bet the crowds will be gathered on that area after seeing the show.

So Larry's the guy drilling holes off the launches to get his scratch boat off. Thanks for ruining access for others. Thanks much Larry.

I shot a bedded buck once. Was still hunting through the woods, turned a corner and he was 20 yards away looking at me. I beat his nose, his eyes and his ears. I had beat him fair and square. I took the shot and he expired in 30 yards. No regrets.

Another way to look at it though, we are really talking about stalking which is what they did in the video out west.  Far shots in that case, but you can still easily spook the animals.  I think that is harder than hiding in a tree, waiting for one to walk past.  That's why its not seen much, most don't hunt that way in WI.  People trudge to their stands, spooking any bedded deer.  Or they do a drive...again spooking the deer.

My feeling about shooting a bedded deer,, your chances would be slim to none of even seeing one. I have never seen one in sixty years of hunting. Personally I wouldn't, its just not sporting !!

Never heard that about a bedded deer either.  I'll be honest I find it strange.  Seems more the result of hunting being a hobby vs a necessity.  To make the hobby more challenging people add their own rules to it.

Interesting on the bedded buck comments........never really thought about it.
Here are my thoughts just to add my 2 cents.....and I'll add I did not get to see the show however.
If the buck is awake and alert......I don't care if bedded or standing, I'll take the shot if it's a good shot.
Never heard of people not taking a shot at bedded deer, but everyone is raised differently and has the option to shoot or not.
They actually sell 3D archery targets of animals in the bedded position....

shooting at a bedded buck is not right, my old man would have taken my rifle and I wouldn't be hunting with him. that for sure. you don't shoot a bedded buck.

Just saw Larry Smith show and was blown away by the size and amount of Perch being caught. Never mentioned where they were but would guess it was the Mississippi River. Anyone know who the guide was in the boat with Larry and Lance?

Yes, well I watched it last Saturday morning at 8:30am, just before J.G.'s water & woods.
Same channel as always for me on my charter / spectrum Madison area line-up.....same channel the Brewers play on.......always thought that was Bally's unless it recently changed.....
