Nice boat, all that top shelf equipment, and JG can’t get a decent boat cover?

Looks looks like Rob cut his hand up pretty bad on that musky that Blake caught. His body language said ,he wasn't too happy.

I love John’s show. Most entertaining and educational fishing show out there.

Dibble you have to boat in from Warroad or Baudette.  It is 30 to 35 miles across water that has no protection from the wind. You want to watch the weather.

Beer Bum,  I had never thought about it like that.  I suppose it's still a faster hookset than years ago when they waited to make sure it DID get the sucker in further.  Maybe I need to wait a little longer to set the hook, we are 1 for 6 on suckers this year.

I like the musky shows.  I find the bass ones boring, but that's because I'm not into bass fishing.  But it's still fun to watch.

Is this just a way to get a week off from fishing?  They could go walleye fishing and catch enough fish for 2 shows technically.  That was my thought anyways, makes for a new show and they get the week off.  Wouldn't blame them in the least.

Ok, 2 muskie shows in a row is enough. Muskie fishing is boring and they stink like heck. Time for some real fish.

Question for the musky guys.

On the show, Pete and JG tell how true quick strike rig is designed/used so that you can set the hook right away and the musky doesn’t swallow the sucker and get injured.  John even said today that the musky won’t let go and will hang on for dear life.

And yet they generally hold off on setting the hook to see where the fish is, position the boat and get the musky to move away.

I get the idea of wanting to set back into the fish to drive the hooks in.  But if the rig is supposed to be for setting the hook right away, why wait?  Aren’t they taking the chance of the fish swallowing the sucker and defeating the purpose of the rig?

Not a musky fisherman, so asking guys in the know.

I'm going to have to start watching episodes online. YouTube TV no longer has FSN. We had Hulu TV and they lost it too.

From everything I've heard, the American side of Lake of the Woods doesn't seem as good as the far northern part of Lake of the Woods. For those that have fished both areas would this be a correct assumption?
