Turnover doesn't happen on all lakes within an area at the same time. Some don't turnover at all because they don't stratify. With a cooler summer than we've had recently some lakes that might've developed a thermocline in the past didn't this year.

Just because a lake is in the middle of turnover doesn't mean that it is completely a Dead Sea in terms of active fish. It takes a little bit of patience to zero in on patterns during turnover but once you are locked in you can have some phenomenal days. People generally avoid fishing a turnover period because they read and buy into the gloom and doom of it. Tough? Sure. Impossible? Not at all. There are bodies of water that I focus on when they are right in the middle of it because those patterns have remained consistent on them during that time year after year.

I seriously doubt it, the water temp was 57 last weekend and it has not been that cold this week
