Braid line for ultralight?

4-8# nanofil is particularly good on an ultralight. Softer than braid or fireline, which makes it easier to watch the line for bites. Plus it casts much longer. Only issue that I have with it is the end 5-7’ wears out after use and needs to be cut off and retied. I typically use a 5’ 2-4# mono leader. 

I use straight 6 lb Fireline, no leader.  Works great for me.  Not twists and great casting distance.

Thanks for the feedback. I'm still mulling this over. Will probably try one with braid just because I hate line twists and braid has helped a lot with that. 

the mono or fluoro you would be using is already so thin I wouldnt go with braid to a leader.....plus, tying that leader would be like tying two hairs together.

PJL ,  I use 4lb fire line ,  white for visibility, and 4 or 6 lb fluorocarbon leader.  Works for me .
