Bobs Bait, West Allis, Wi. Closing

Tried calling Bobs, no answer, so stopped in after work. 5pm. Sign on the door says the owner recently passed away, and they will closing by Oct.1st. Been using them for well over 55 years, because they always had a good selection of bait, and tackle. Needless to say I will miss them.

Went past bobs bait today closed up tight and is for sale

That's to bad. Wondering if the bait shop on West Villard ave is still open? I think it is between 40th & 50th.

I heard that they are still open but have weird hours. Is this true?

Hopefully someone else is able to re-open this place.

This place was the only bait shop i use...so sad its not going to be there anymore

Remember stopping there with my mom for red worms when she took us up to Greenfield Park when my brother and I were little kids in the early 70's. We'd also stop and they'd give us the dead minnows that we fed my brother's pet snake. Went to Jr. High across the street from the shop. I recall looking out during class and wishing I was fishing. That place was almost always a stop when my Dad took us fishing as kids. Haven't been there in years as as I don't live in or fish the area too much anymore. Always seems a shame when a small shop closes up.

Stopped there every ice fishing trip to pick up hundreds of spikes and waxies, I'm sure gonna miss that shop. Last time I stopped in there, the owner's son was running the shop.

Sad day for sure. I remember going in ther 45+ years ago with my dad and looked forward to stopping there once spring came every year.
