What is a Warmouth crossed between?  Every lake i fish has Rock Bass, this Warmouth is the same thing but with different color, thinking they are cross between Rock Bass Green Sunfish and or Pumkinseed.

They can "cross pollinate", so they can be hard to tell one from another

Caught what I thought were warmouths in ponds and shallow, warm bays

Remember soft rays and smooth skinned, so ...? and colorful with large mouth

It can be real hard to tell the difference between warmouth and green sunfish.

Those kind of look like a Green Sunfish...

Warmouth have a bigger mouth - more like a Crappie.  Guess I can't really tell from the picture.

Here is a pic of a Warmouth I caught on Tichigan this past winter.

Warmouth are fairly common on the Fox River both above and below the Waterford and Rochester Dams.

Used to catch them on Big Sand in Vilas but haven't thought about them in years.  I remember just throwing them back after a few tries b/c of how small the filet was.
