Who's got one ? what are you growing ? and how's it coming along? Mine consists of sweet corn , cabbage , brussel sprouts, cauliflower, broccoli ,cucumbers, zucchini, peas, tomatoes , peppers , acorn squash, pumpkins, and assorted spices. The cold wet weather hasn't been very conducive to good growth so far for me. But with warmer weather in the forecast things should turn out. I hope those of you growing fair better.

Thats because of our short growing season. Heirlooms will grow indefinitely if in the right environment. I only grow heirloom as well, but they still need to have a strong enough plant to support all that fruit! Same goes for peppers. But peppers I'm very strict about removing flowers this time of year. Need that stem to thicken up before adding weight to the branches!
I usually don’t prune or snip off flowers or suckers because I grow heirlooms and they don’t usually produce much fruit. The exception is the Cherokee Purple which can get really huge if I don’t prune. I usually get around 30 eaters off a large plant and about a dozen with BR.
Carpio - it's a marathon not a sprint! Once they start throwing fruit more energy goes into fruit than growing. I like to get my tomatoes a couple feet tall, and then pluck all the leaves from the bottom 12" so nothing touches the ground. So I usually pluck flowers for awhile yet until they're at a height I like.
But I wouldn't take my advice on tomatoes, last year was my worst year ever and overall I just don't put too much effort into tomatoes.

2 gardens fully planted now. Planted 4 tomato plants and 20 peppers in my back garden tonight. It has 2 rows of garlic and a row of potatoes in it as well. The garlichas started to produce scapes already. Will have to pick those soon. Once the garlic is out of the harden I'll plant beans there
My issue is the weeds around the garden. My chicken coop runs along the one side, and I like to keep that full of weeds as it offers the birds extra protection from hawks/eagles. I'm going to try to stay on top of weed whacking the tops to keep the weeds from going to seed and see if that helps, but the section from the picture and 1 other section are always the worst areas. Rest of the garden isn't too bad so we just learn to deal with it. Once we get it all weeded, like we did this weekend, then we are usually good for the rest of the year.
Had a group of kids drop off about 20 carp for my corn patch this weekend. The wife loved that

I only till my natural ground garden and I do it by foot with a shovel. It's only 8'X12' so it doesn't take me long to turn up the soil once a year. I don't get very many weeds. In my raised beds the dirt is loose enough that whatever weeds I do get I just pull them by hand. I think one key to not having as many weeds is to fill the garden up as much as possible. I don't usually have much space left in the garden to grow weeds once I'm done planting! My "weeds" are other plants, lol!
