Who's got one ? what are you growing ? and how's it coming along? Mine consists of sweet corn , cabbage , brussel sprouts, cauliflower, broccoli ,cucumbers, zucchini, peas, tomatoes , peppers , acorn squash, pumpkins, and assorted spices. The cold wet weather hasn't been very conducive to good growth so far for me. But with warmer weather in the forecast things should turn out. I hope those of you growing fair better.

I discovered last night that a rabbit has chewed holes in my brand new fence to get in! Guess plastic fencing isn't good enough to keep them out! Luckily, no damage in that garden. I've seen them eat immature pepper plants before, but they haven't touched them (luckily). Gonna have to put some metal fencing around the perimeter of the old garden again! Ugh! Haven't seen a rabbit in a few years, but being gone for a week and no dogs outside in that time must've brought em back! They did get into my new raised bed garden and chewed on a few things including the tops of some of my carrots, a few onion tops (the smaller ones, and some leaves off my pole beans, but not all of them. Might have to add fencing to that garden as well!
Been keeping up on potato bugs without neem oil pretty well till recently, round of eggs hatched so a lot of small beetles last night. Neem oil works great on those, kills them on contact. Also hit the cukes for beetles/wilt and the tomatoes for blight. Doing well so far, lightyears ahead of last year in regards to blight at least. Virtually no japanese beetles, knock on wood. Seeing the yellow/white moths that come from cabbage worms lately, but haven't seen any worms.
Tis the season for pests and disease with this heat and humidity.

Back from a week-long mission trip in Alaska. My garden did well while I was gone. No pictures taken last night....too tired, but it was the first thing I looked at when we got home! A few flowers on my cherry tomatoes. Pickling cucumbers have a few cukes on them. The pepper plant I over-wintered (PJ Cayenne) has a couple of peppers on it already. Lettuce needs to be picked right away in due to this heat. Only one planted had bolted while I was gone. Onions - the ones I planted in early April are bulbing. The others are behind a bit but hopefully I'll still get something off them. Garlic will probably be ready next week.
Planted some pinto beans yesterday, never tried growing them before but I like them in chili so I figured why not.
Also bought a bag of sweet corn seeds from fleet farm, and it was only enough for one 40' row! What a rip off at $3! I'll stick with my eBay shops from now on, was just convenient at the time.
Garden is really looking good this year, still plenty of time for something to go south though!
