Thanks all.
Still expecting to see Ozzie, it's funny how your brain has split seconds where it forgets he's gone (after 20 years)...
Like when you call the kitties for dinner...
The vet that we took him to sent a card the other day that had Ozzie's paw print on it, that was a nice thing to do.

There isn't a one less cat in the house thread, so I'll post this here.
My wife and I had to put down Ozzie this morning, our cat of 20 years.
He had been losing a little bit each week for the last couple of months, wasn't eating much, and overall declining. We didn't want to see him suffer, so made the hard decision to take him to the vet. We had a great 20 years, and it was the right thing to do, but it didn't make it any easier.
This is a picture maybe an hour before. Smokey (our pup), could tell something was wrong, and jumped up on the couch and laid next to Ozzie.
So funny what animals can sense.
Ozzie was such a good kitty, he will be so missed.
RIP Ozzie.

Well, the grey cat is home and through her "radioactive" period. She will get a vet check in about two weeks.
It's nice to be able to sit with her on our laps and give her all the pets now.
She was just under 5 pounds when she was weighed at the vet. Swear to God, she's a little heavier now. Not as bony, so I feel like the treatment has worked for her.
UW vet says we will see very gradual changes in her over time. She should put on some good and needed weight. Nighttime anxiety should go down and her insatiable hunger should go down.
So far? She's already a little calmer. But she still eats a ton. Typically we feed her 7:30 breakfast, 11:30 lunch, 5:00 supper, 2nd supper an hour after first supper, 8:00 feeding, 10:00 feeding, then 2:00AM feeding and a 5:00AM feeding. That has not changed....yet. We are going through a ton of wet food.
Course, if I yelled a little and someone got up and gave me a pizza, I'd be doing it every few hours, too. I think she's trained us.

Well, it's our lucky day. UW just called and we can pick up our kitty! She's all good to come home.
Bad part is that I'm at work with meetings from 10:00 to 2:00.
It looks like Madison could get some severe weather tonight and tomorrow so my wife is on her way to Madison to get our little girl.
Then comes the hard part. Having her at home and not being able to just smother her with pets!
