Lot of dog owners out there. The 1 less dog thread is touching but rough. Sad to see so many beautiful dogs pass. Thought talking about our pooches while they’re still with us would be fun.
I inherit rescues because my mother in law and sister in law both work for an animal hospital.
Pic 1 is Reggie. Reggie was found wandering Great Lakes Naval Base in 2002! That makes our Reggie 19! He still goes up stairs and will steal food if left unattended. Reggie has never bitten anyone in his 19 years and has welcomed many rescues in his home without conflict. He is awesome.
pic 2 is Patty. Patty was rescued from a kill shelter in 2005. She is 15 and still will kill any small animal unfortunate enough to cross her path in the yard. Patty never left my side while I battled cancer years ago. She laid next to me in bed for 6 months. Can’t beat that loyalty.
Fran is a troublemaker and the boss of the sauce. She is a purebred Teacup Poodle. She was brought in near death from malnourishment. She weighed less than 1 pound. We nursed her back to health and she now weighs a whopping 3 pounds. Fran and Patti are inseparable.
We rescue older dogs so we have lost several. As tough as it is I am satisfied we made their lives better in the end. There is no doubt all the dogs we have rescued has made our lives much better.
All of our dogs were named by the time we got them and no I did not put the dress on Fran. My wife likes to play dress up- more power to her.
