Scotch whiskey related items. What are your favorites.

This can include all whiskeys that are not bourbon. Irish, Japanese and malt whiskies. This 16 year is incredible. Very smooth. 

The dimple pinch. This is a sweet scotch. Brown sugar and raisin are prominent. Really no burn. If you can find this scotch noobs this is a must try. 

Like I said in the past the McAllan harmony collection is cocoa. For Cocoa Puffs. You can taste ginger, apricot and honey which I love!  At 150.00 this is an elite bottle!

Someone asked a while ago about the size of ice. Maybe this thread or drinking. 2 1/2 in sphere for me if I use one. Critiques coming. 

During that tasting the smoke wagon was loved as well as the pinch scotch. Riff malted rye was also a big hit as well. 

Been working on the Glenfiddich 14 yr. bottle of scotch, it is ok-good. It was my first try at scotch, I would
say a little smoother than bourbon, not quite such a harsh bite.  I can't pull out all the notes like some on here, but will keep fine tuning my craft.

Heck of a tasting tonight. Riff malted rye was number 1! 2 yellow stone limited edition bought for me by my buddy this week. My favorite. 

Boy I was initially too rough on this Hancock Reserve. Last few posts have been favorable though. On the nose there is oak. But on the palate just slight oak tones. Sweet is the word. Vanilla and cinnamon mix. I love it. 

Knob creek 15 yr. Raisin , heavy oak and rye. Brown sugar. This is more like a rye like I said before. Getting better now but really not worth the money. 

Aberlour 16 yr double cask matured. Apple and pear.  Dry good. Cinnamon and vanilla. Smooth and tasty. Love it. 

GlenDronach Ginger, berries, apple pie with brown sugar. Slight tobacco finish. Spicy liquor background. 

As some of you know I am rather fond of Singleton. This 18 yr Glendullan is tasting real good tonight. This taste like a whiskey more than a scotch. Vanilla, brown sugar and cinnamon. Very light smoke and every once in a while pick up some peppermint. 

I see a lot of interesting scotchs listed over here....  

Not much going on for new whiskeys lately. Picked up an eagle and got an old elk the sweet Elizabeth finished in a  Sherry cask. It’s an Illinois select barrel supposed to be good. Will report on it later.

Had one with the old Sazerac rye. Don’t care for it. Many recipes contain a rye whiskey add in. 

I love my manhattan’s. Although this bottle of bourbon is not a bad sipper, I have accumulated a few bottles. Need to get rid of some. This is a good way. Works well for some of the non shippers also!
